General Site Policy for TCE Online Courses

We use Moodle for our courses, and by signing in to the platform, you accept the following general site policies and regulations:

Personal Information
Every participant will complete their profile with some basic information and an indicative photograph or icon of their choosing. This data will be used by TCE and its tutors to contact the participant and for general information which may be useful during the course. Personal information is stored for a minimum of three years under GDPR legitimate interest regulations. A user's account is linked to their activity on the course and their contributions to the course and this data may be necessary for certificate issue, proof of completion and for external validation in the case of our fully-certified courses.

Access Logs
Moodle automatically stores user access information: dates, resources visited, length of visit and more in its internal logs. These logs will be  stored for a minimum of three years under GDPR legitimate interest regulations. A user's logs are linked to their activity on the course and their contributions to the course and this data may be necessary for certificate issue, proof of completion and for external validation in the case of our fully-certified courses.

Course contributions
Moodle automatically stores user forum posts and course contributions as part of each course. These will be  stored for a minimum of three years under GDPR legitimate interest regulations. A user's contributions are proof of their activity on the course and this data may be necessary for certificate issue, proof of completion and for external validation in the case of our fully-certified courses.

Third Party Sites & Tools
As part of most of our courses you will be accessing external, third-party websites, resources and platforms. We advise you to take the usual precautions when doing so. If you do not want to use a particular tool or service, please let your tutor know in good time before the related activity starts.

Privacy Officer
You can contact the TCE Privacy Office from your Profile page. Use this contact form to enquire about the data we hold on you, and to request data deletion. Please note that in the event of a successful data deletion request we will no longer hold any information on you and will be unable to assist with certificate reissue, proof of course participation or with requests for help with external evaluation for our fully-certified courses.
